Refuweegee x Glitch T-Shirts

We are so excited to launch these new Refuweegee T-shirts designed by Negative Destination. With black squares on social media feeling a little like a distant memory, Refuweegee wanted to launch these to bring that discussion back to the forefront. And there’s nothing like explaining what a jobby is to get a conversation going!

Refuweegee also wanted to make sure that we were doing everything possible to ensure that Black voices can be heard and are being listened to. We want these t shirts to be a conversation starter but also raise funds to make a real difference in our ever-increasingly digital space. With more and more conversations taking place online, making sure the online space is safe for all critical. Online abuse including harassment, hate speech and now zoom bombing is on the rise and has worsened during COVID-19 and lockdown. Our new report, The Ripple Effect: Covid-19 and the Epidemic of Online Abuse has shown that almost half of women and non-binary people have experienced online abuse since March’s lockdown, with this figure increasing for those from Black and minorities communities. That’s why these T-shirts will be raising funds for both Refuweegee and Glitch.

With increased internet usage and technology shaping our everyday interactions, it’s crucial that more is done to end harms that exist in our online spaces and hold tech companies to account. But we can’t do this without your support!  The money raised from these T-shirts will help them to continue hosting free online workshops to equip people with skills to better protect themselves online and push for long term change. You can find out all about our Autumn 2020 programme and you can support us both by buying a T-shirt through the link below!
